  • We are focused in the MD and DE Beach areas. This includes Ocean City and West Ocean City, MD, Berlin, Ocean Pines, Fenwick Island, Selbyville, Bethany Beach, Ocean View, Dewey Beach, Rehoboth Beach, and Lewes. If you are outside of these areas, please give us a call or email and we would love to try to accommodate you.

  • Our advanced background checks are conducted online through TruDiligence. They include: SSN trace, 7-year all County and all Federal Criminal, National Criminal Database, National Sex Offender, OFAC (sanctions/terrorist watch list), and Motor Vehicle Records searches. These will be repeated annually.

  • Yes! You can favorite your prior sitters in your profile. We will do our very best to accommodate your preferences! We will send your booking requests to your favorites first.

  • Your sitter will message you securely through your profile dashboard initially to introduce themselves and establish contact, without exchanging personal phone numbers. Messaging is possible both through our website login and our app, but definitely more user-friendly through the app! At that point, you can choose to exchange contact information and schedule a phone call with your sitter to get to know each other better.

  • We totally understand wanting to meet your sitter before you entrust them with your pride and joy. We try to accommodate this with an intro video, phone call, and optional Zoom meeting. We do not require our sitters to meet you in person before the booking date, and feel really confident that our vetting and thorough interview process gives us only the best! That being said, you can certainly ask your matched sitter if she would be willing. We defer to the sitters to make this decision for themselves and to arrange said meeting if both parties agree to it.

  • Yes! We ask that if you are looking for a sitter within 24 hours to please submit your booking request online and also call us directly to inform us of the urgent nature of your request. This helps us expedite your response time and likelihood of getting a matched sitter. For bookings with <24 hours notice, a $25 rush fee is charged to the card on file after being matched.

  • We are happy to help you with long term needs, and try to accommodate this with booking packages and memberships for more infrequent needs. If you need a full or part-time Nanny, you can certainly inquire on our Book Now page. We will respond within 48 hours to let you know if any of our awesome Sitters may be interested in pursuing a more predictable position. During peak season (April through October), we do not feel that we can commit to searching for placement Nannies for families given the volume of short-term needs in those months. For this reason, we generally do not accept placement job applications during those times from families. That being said, you can always inquire as we do often have Sitters with changing needs who may be looking for a more permanent position!

  • Yes! This is permitted as long as the sitter is provided with reasonable accommodations. There is a flat overnight fee of $150 for the sitter and the hourly rate stops at 12am and resumes at 7am the next day.

  • No, Shoreline Sitters does not provide pet sitting service. All of our sitters are comfortable being around animals, so you can certainly ask your sitter if she would be willing to provide care to your animal as well. Any additional cost would be negotiated between the sitter and the family at your discretion.

  • Yes! We would love to care for your group at any local event space, as long as the parents are present on site and available if needed in case of emergency.

  • If you want to request a sitter for children from different families at the same time, you can definitely do that! When you make the booking request, you will see an area to write the name of the other family and children. Please note that each family involved in a booking request will have to make an application/profile individually to account for and sign for each child as their parent/legal guardian. Each family involved in an initial booking will be charged the one-time registration fee at the time of match.
